After flying high against Vandalia  last Tuesday, North Mac came back down to earth. The North Mac Panthers took  a  13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sangamon Valley/Tri-City Storm on Wednesday. The  defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for North Mac in their matchups with Sangamon Valley/Tri-City: they've now lost five in a row.
  Sophie Gilmore and  Ines Ortigosa stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Gilmore  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-2, while  Ortigosa  scored three  runs while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.  Lennox Wiseman was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-4.
 Even though they lost, North Mac was hitting in the alleys and  finished the game with four  doubles. That's the most  doubles they've managed all season.
 North Mac's loss  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 9-7. As for Sangamon Valley/Tri-City, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won seven of their last eight matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record  this season.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Mac will take on Springfield at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday.
