Maddison Barefield was the offensive standout of the match as she had four digs and two aces. What's more, she racked up nine assists, the most she's had over her last four matchups. Chloe Stock also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.
If El Cajon Valley wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Grossmont, they should've done a better job of containing Kayla Kenis. The Foothillers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Braves on Tuesday thanks in part to Kenis, who had 11 digs and one assist. Stock is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last three games she's played.
One reason for the win was Grossmont's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-16, 25-14.
Steele Canyon now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Grossmont, their victory bumped their record up to 19-9.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Steele Canyon hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 4.1 blocks per game. It's a different story for Grossmont, though, as they've been averaging only 0.7 blocks. Given Steele Canyon's sizable advantage in that area, the Foothillers will need to find a way to close that gap.
