Dayton has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Johnson Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Dayton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Dayton came up short against Brearley and fell 55-46. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dayton in their matchups with Brearley: they've now lost three in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kyle Rosenstock, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds. Luke Sherman was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Johnson proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 25) but on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-42 victory over Bridgewater-Raritan. The win made it back-to-back wins for Johnson.
Dayton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Johnson, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5.
Dayton came up short against Johnson in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 54-50. Can Dayton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
