Antioch is 7-1 against Zion-Benton since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Sequoits will take on the Zee-Bees at 4:45 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Antioch has four straight victories, Zion-Benton has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Antioch made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Richmond-Burton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Sequoits were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Rockets on Tuesday. The Sequoits might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by nine runs or more this season.
Carson Young tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Antioch let Nathan Yeager and Zach Rubin run wild. Yeager scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Rubin scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Antioch is 2-0-1 when Yeager posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-3 otherwise. Jaxon Gembara also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Antioch kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Zion-Benton fell victim to Dundee-Crown and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Chargers, falling 11-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Zee-Bees were not able to get on the board.
Antioch now has a winning record of 4-3-1. As for Zion-Benton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Zion-Benton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Antioch hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .352. It's a different story for Zion-Benton, though, as they've only averaged .225. Will they be able to contain Antioch's hitters?
Antioch skirted past Zion-Benton 3-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sequoits since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
