The Penelope Wolverines waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They blew past Oakwood 58-37. Penelope has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Penelope's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayden Schwarz led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Schwarz hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 16 straight games. Another player making a difference was Dylan Lednicky, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Penelope pushed their record up to 21-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Oakwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
Penelope will face off against Bynum at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bynum will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1527th, while Penelope is ranked 682nd). As for Oakwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Avalon at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
