The Lonoke Jackrabbits will head out on the road to face off against the Nashville Scrappers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lonoke is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Lonoke pushed their score all the way to 34 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 45-34 to Stuttgart.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Nashville's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a hard 35-21 fall against Malvern.
Tre Hopkins put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Hopkins is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.
Even if they lost, Nashville's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Malvern's QB was sacked seven times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by Zaccheus Harris and Makhi Johnson who racked up five sacks between them.
Lonoke has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Nashville, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Lonoke and Nashville were almost perfectly matched up in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, but Lonoke suffered an agonizing 36-35 defeat. Thankfully for Lonoke, Sloan Perrin (who rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also threw for 65 yards and a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
