Basketball Recap: Sheets Memorial Christian Comes Up Short

Sheets Memorial Christian managed to keep up with North Hills Christian until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Sheets Memorial Christian Eagles might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the North Hills Christian Eagles an easy 81-58 victory. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Sheets Memorial Christian of the 93-59 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2022.

Despite the loss, Sheets Memorial Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Finn Everhart almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Everhart has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Levi Ferguson, who went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points and six rebounds.

It was another big night for Maverick Ball, who went 10 of 23 on his way to 26 points along with seven boards and five assists for North Hills Christian. The game was Ball's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adarion Hawkins, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points in addition to six assists and three steals.

Sheets Memorial Christian's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7. As for North Hills Christian, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Sheets Memorial Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Millers Creek Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for North Hills Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-50 victory against Rockwell Christian School on the 17th.
