Despite the loss, St. Francis had strong showings from Riley Austin, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Dolly Smith, who scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of T?a Rubino, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Schurz scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They walked away with a 66-58 victory over Foreman. The final score was a far cry from the score of their previous head-to-head, which saw the teams combine for 44 points.
Schurz's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alexis Falconer led the charge by scoring 17 points. It was the first time this season that Falconer scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Tatiana Feliciano, who scored 16 points.
St. Francis' loss dropped their record down to 15-15. As for Schurz, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: St. Francis have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 24.1 rebounds per game.
