Blanco is 10-0 against Florence since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Blanco Panthers on the road again and play against the Florence Buffaloes at 6:15 p.m. on January 26th. Florence took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Blanco, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Blanco didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Ingram Moore, but they still walked away with a 41-36 win.
Kaylee Romero and Mina Broyles were among the main playmakers for Blanco as the former scored 19 points along with two steals and the latter scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Broyles is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kate Capshaw, who scored four points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Florence's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight loss. They fell 40-28 to Llano. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Florence in their matchups with Llano: they've now lost five in a row.
Blanco's win bumped their record up to 13-16. As for Florence, they dropped their record down to 2-21 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight at home.
Everything went Blanco's way against Florence in their previous matchup on January 9th as Blanco made off with a 41-20 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Blanco since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
