The Pinnacle has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the DSST: Montview Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but The Pinnacle ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Arrupe Jesuit out 42-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory The Pinnacle has posted against Arrupe Jesuit since February 18, 2017.
The Pinnacle's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Yahir Chavira, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chavira has scored all season. Caleb Arellano was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
Meanwhile, DSST: Montview waltzed into their contest on Saturday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. Everything went their way against Far Northeast W as DSST: Montview made off with a 70-50 win. DSST: Montview has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.
The Pinnacle's win bumped their record up to 1-5. As for DSST: Montview, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Things could have been worse for The Pinnacle, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 85-66 loss to DSST: Montview when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Thankfully for The Pinnacle, Kaiir Hicks (who scored 16 points along with three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
