After losing to The Mount Pisgah Christian Patriots the last time they met, the Mount Vernon Mustangs decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Mount Vernon blew past Mount Pisgah Christian 49-7 at home. The result was nothing new for Mount Vernon, who have now won four matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Walker Warshaw was a one-man wrecking crew for Mount Vernon as he rushed for 249 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.8 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Sam Nazarian, who threw for 166 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes.
The victory makes it two in a row for Mount Vernon and bumps their season record up to 6-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34 points. As for Mount Pisgah Christian, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Mount Vernon will head out on the road to face off against Whitefield Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mount Pisgah Christian, they will be playing at home against St. Francis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Francis is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
