The Anna Coyotes will head out on the road to face off against the Panther Creek Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Anna sitting on five straight wins and Panther Creek on three.
Even though Anna has not done well against Celina recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Anna came out on top against Celina by a score of 43-36.
Anna found their leader in underclassman Holland Jackson, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Jackson pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayonna Cooper, who scored four points along with 18 rebounds and four steals.
Panther Creek posted their biggest win since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They put the hurt on Ranchview with a sharp 50-25 victory. Given Panther Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Ranchview is ranked 845th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Anna is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Panther Creek, their win bumped their record up to 19-10.
Anna skirted past Panther Creek 65-62 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Does Anna have another victory up their sleeve, or will Panther Creek turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
