The Potomac School Panthers will take on the Centreville Wildcats in a holiday battle at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Potomac School is ranked highly in their home state, and on Wednesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Shabach Christian Academy. Potomac School lost to Shabach Christian Academy at home by a decisive 84-68 margin. It was the first time this season that Potomac School let down their fans at home.
Despite the loss, Potomac School saw an underclassman step up: Sabrina Anderson scored 27 points. Those 27 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Catherine Letendre, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Centreville put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 61-48 win over Washington-Liberty. Given Centreville's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Washington-Liberty is ranked 210th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Potomac School's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2. As for Centreville, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.
