Platte Canyon extended the longest winning streak in 1A/2A Metro this week by beating Denver Christian, 57-7. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Platte Canyon took down the Crusaders 57-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kenny Michel ran for 101 yards during the win.
Jefferson's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Cameron Washburn threw for 258 and 3 touchdowns and Lawrence Salazar had 142 yards receiving. On the ground Jovanni Lucero contributed 169 yards. Lucero helped Jefferson's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 92 yards.
He was 14-22 with 3 interceptions.
Salazar made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Saints bested Lyons. The 5-foot-10 senior nabbed 1 interception.
Salazar was the best wideout in the league this week as Jefferson beat the Lions. Salazar racked up 7 receptions for 142 yards. Lucero helped Jefferson's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 92 yards.
Jefferson's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Saints feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Washburn has thrown for 1,633 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, while Salazar has 28 catches for 830 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Clear Creek takes on the Huskies. The Golddiggers are currently in sixth, while Platte Canyon is in second.
