The Fairbury Jeffs lost to the Fillmore Central Panthers back in December of 2022, but the Fairbury Jeffs didn't allow the Fillmore Central Panthers the same satisfaction on Saturday. Fairbury came out on top against Fillmore Central by a score of 59-48. The win made it back-to-back wins for Fairbury.
Fairbury's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Evelyn Timmons, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Micah Friesen was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 9 rebounds.
Fillmore Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ali Nichols, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaili Head, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds.
Fairbury's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Fillmore Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Fairbury will head out on the road to face off against Superior on Tuesday. As for Fillmore Central, they will be playing at home against Freeman on Friday.
