Basketball Game Preview: San Jacinto Valley Academy Wolves vs. Temecula Prep Patriots

San Jacinto Valley Academy is 2-8 against Temecula Prep since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the San Jacinto Valley Academy Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Temecula Prep Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

San Jacinto Valley Academy is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Hamilton: they outscored them in every quarter. San Jacinto Valley Academy enjoyed a cozy 48-31 victory over Hamilton on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wolves as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

San Jacinto Valley Academy can attribute much of their success to Day Edwards, who posted 26 points. The dominant performance gave Edwards a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Maddox Franco, who scored six points.

Meanwhile, Temecula Prep took their match on Wednesday with ease, bagging an 80-40 victory over Hamilton. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 24 points or more this season.

Temecula Prep has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.6 points per game. As for San Jacinto Valley Academy, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-11.

San Jacinto Valley Academy was dealt a bruising 76-34 defeat at the hands of Temecula Prep in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point San Jacinto Valley Academy was down 40-18.
