Peyton Fields was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Hazard let Heidi Jones and Mallory Combs run wild. Jones went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Combs got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits Jones has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylynn Eddington, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Hazard kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Leslie County can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Owsley County a 15-0 shutout.
Emily Caldwell made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Caldwell was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Hazard pushed their record up to 17-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Leslie County, their win bumped their record up to 10-19.
Both Hazard and Leslie County just can't seem to miss. The Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Leslie County struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Hazard's way against Leslie County in their previous meeting back in April, as Hazard made off with a 10-4 victory. Will the Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
