The East Lansing Trojans entered their tilt with the Lakeland Eagles with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. East Lansing took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 35-7 victory over Lakeland. Considering East Lansing has won six matchups by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Jace Clarizio, who rushed for 185 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Clarizio was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards. Another player making a difference was Benjamin Fletcher, who punched in a rushing score.
East Lansing's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.8 points per game. As for Lakeland, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
East Lansing has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Byron Center at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Byron Center knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully East Lansing likes a good challenge. Lakeland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
