The Rangeview Raiders waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Denver East 68-52. For Rangeview, this counts as revenge for the 74-54 defeat Denver East walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rangeview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenny Black-Knox, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Demetrius Bailey, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Denver East lost, one person who can't be blamed is Maurice Fulcher. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fulcher has scored all season. Decland McDonald was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Rangeview's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-10. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.2 points per game. As for Denver East, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
Rangeview will head out on the road to square off against Denver South at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Denver South will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Rangeview surely won't give up without a fight. As for Denver East, they will be playing at home against George Washington at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. George Washington knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Denver East likes a good challenge.
