Centennial is 9-1 against the Maroons since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Centennial Chargers will be playing at home against the Champaign Central Maroons at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Centennial is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Maroons in Illinois (the Chargers are ranked 92nd, while the Maroons are ranked 220th).
Last Tuesday, Centennial strolled past the Greenwave with points to spare, taking the game 65-46.
Meanwhile, Champaign Central ended up a good deal behind the Titans on Tuesday and lost 63-47.
Despite their loss, Champaign Central saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Luke Swanson, who scored 11 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was A.j. Tucker, who scored five points.
Centennial's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Champaign Central, they dropped their record down to 10-15 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Centennial was able to grind out a solid victory over the Maroons when the teams last played back in January, winning 61-52. Will Centennial repeat their success, or do the Maroons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
