Shawnee Heights had a senior duo take command as Allen Baughman rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns and Ryeki Tuley threw for 242 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.3% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Malcom, who picked up 98 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Shawnee Heights' defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. The heavy lifting was done by Alex Dawkins and Jaki Lee who racked up four sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Sumner Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They were beaten by Lincoln College Prep 41-6. Sumner Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.
Shawnee Heights' victory bumped their season record to 6-2 while Sumner Academy's loss dropped theirs to 4-4.
