The Hawley Bearcats had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against Sonora on Friday as Hawley made off with a 31-8 win. The victory was nothing new for Hawley as they're now sitting on nine straight.
Keagan Ables continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 76 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 232 yards and a touchdown while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt. Hawley also got help from Diontay Ramon who showed off his sure hands for 115 receiving yards.
When it comes to explaining why Sonora lost, one person who can't be blamed is Edgar Deluna. Despite the final result, he rushed for 164 yards and a touchdown.
Hawley pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Sonora, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-2.
Hawley is on the road again on Friday and play against Stratford at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Stratford is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Sonora does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
