The Hurricane Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Pine View, falling 92-62. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (60), Hurricane still had to take the loss.
Hurricane lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Houston Homer, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Homer has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Mccauley, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Nash Schroeder was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with six rebounds and four steals for Pine View. Schroeder hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Griffen Shepherd, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds.
Hurricane has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Pine View, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Hurricane will be playing in front of their home fans against Cedar at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cedar is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Pine View, they will head out on the road to challenge Desert Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Desert Hills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Wednesday.
