Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Central Private Redhawks, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were outmatched by Ascension Catholic on the road and fell 48-14. While losing is never fun, Central Private can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 288th, while Ascension Catholic is ranked 106th).
Central Private has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Ascension Catholic, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Central Private does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ascension Catholic will head out on the road to face off against Opelousas Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Opelousas Catholic is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
