Durham had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They put the hurt on the Pierce Bears with a sharp 11-2 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-0 on Tuesday.

Annalee Horn and Sadie Sjolund were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Horn pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Sjolund struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Horn has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. At bat, Horn went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one run, while Sjolund went 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those four hits gave Horn a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trinity Kolu, who earned three runs and two stolen bases.

Durham kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matchups.

Durham pushed their record up to 15-5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Pierce, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.

Coming up, Durham will venture away from home to face off against Wheatland at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Pirates have now posted at least ten runs in their last 12 contests. As for Pierce, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Colusa at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the RedHawks have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season.
