Softball Recap: Fontainebleau Wins Going Away Against Salmen

Fontainebleau won the last time they faced Salmen and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 21-6 margin over the Spartans. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by ten runs or more this season.

Fontainebleau got a massive performance out of Caroline Butscher, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Butscher also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Bailey Lagman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, five RBI, and three runs.

Fontainebleau hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two strikeouts batters in three consecutive games.

Fontainebleau is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Salmen, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fontainebleau will face off against Chalmette at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Salmen, they will head out to square off against Pine at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
