Volleyball Recap: Rockmart's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Rockmart had to endure a five-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Woodland Wildcats by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in August.

Rockmart easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-9.

Amazia Christopher paced Rockmart's offense, picking up eight kills. Christopher got some help from Briley Malone and her eight assists. Christopher was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Rockmart's victory bumped their record up to 11-27. As for Woodland, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-26.

Rockmart and Woodland could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Yellowjackets (ranked 328th) will meet Ringgold (ranked 91st) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Woodland will square off against Model at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (354 vs. 90).
