Softball Recap: Leslie County's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Leslie County barely beat Knox Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Panthers on Monday. The contest marked the Eagles' most dominant victory of the season.

Peyton Turner was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Maddi Coots, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI.

Leslie County moved to 3-11 with that win, which also ended their seven-game losing streak. As for Knox Central, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leslie County will take on Harlan County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles are facing the Black Bears at the right time seeing as the Black Bears are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Knox Central, they will host Cumberland Gap at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
