B District 3 recap October 1, 2013
Elkhorn South's Zach Zelasko recorded the longest rushing play in B District 3 this season in his game against Plattsmouth last week. Zelasko ran for 82 yards on the play and finished with 110 on the day as his team bested the Blue Devils.
Nick Stoltenberg and Derek Templeman provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Crete. The connection was good for 97 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.
Jordan Dostal made the biggest impact on defense this week as Gretna bested the Cardinals. The 6-foot-1 senior.
Templeman was the best wideout in the league this week as the Dragons beat Crete. Templeman racked up 3 receptions for 118 yards. Gage Kirwan helped Gretna's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 24 yards.
Gretna's Stoltenberg and Templeman led B District 3 in both passing and receiving yards. Stoltenberg has thrown for 608 yards this season, while Templeman, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 14 catches for 279 yards. Steve Worthing from Elkhorn South leads the league in rushing with 283 yards.
Chad Jepsen's team added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Chuck Mcginnis' team, 31-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
