Spotsylvania is 1-9 against Courtland since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Spotsylvania Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Courtland Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Spotsylvania has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 19.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 73-38, which was the final score in Spotsylvania's tilt against James Monroe on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Spotsylvania can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 424th, while James Monroe is ranked 131st).
Meanwhile, Courtland unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 58-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eastern View.
Spotsylvania dropped their record down to 2-17 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Courtland, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6.
Spotsylvania took a serious blow against Courtland when the teams last played back in January, falling 51-16. Can Spotsylvania avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
