With a playoff win on the line, Daphne rose to the challenge on Friday. They claimed a resounding 43-14 victory over the Sparkman Senators. Considering the Trojans have won six matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
A big part of Daphne's win came down to the chemistry between Christian Segar and his top target LaBrayln Williams. Segar threw for 309 yards and four TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes while Williams gained 152 total yards and five touchdowns. Segar has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. A healthy portion of Segar's aerial production (81 yards to be exact) went to Jaecyn Myles, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Despite the loss, Sparkman still got an impressive performance from Braylon Lawson, who rushed for 76 yards and a pair of scores.
The victory made it two in a row for Daphne and bumps their season record up to 9-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 27 points in those games. As for Sparkman, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
Coming up, Daphne will face off against Auburn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests. Sparkman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
