This season hasn't been kind to the Pinewood Prep Panthers, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They fell 48-40 to Cane Bay on Wednesday. Pinewood Prep lost against Cane Bay in their previous head to head back in December of 2016, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 36-30 score last time.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cane Bay to victory, but perhaps none more so than LaChar Lawrence, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Lawrence continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Kimora Carmichael was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five steals.
Pinewood Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Cane Bay, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Pinewood Prep will take on Heathwood Hall Episcopal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Heathwood Hall Episcopal's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Cane Bay, they will head out on the road to face off against Fort Dorchester at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
