Hubbard is 0-10 against Struthers since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Hubbard Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Struthers Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Hubbard is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Hubbard got the win against McKinley by a conclusive 58-36. The victory was just what Hubbard needed coming off of a 54-34 defeat in their prior game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hubbard to victory, but perhaps none more so than Javon Greene, who scored 13 points. Greene set a new season high mark in blocks with two. Gavin Rybicki was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Struthers managed to keep up with South Range until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Struthers' tough 71-45 loss to South Range might stick with them for a while. Struthers has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hubbard's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Struthers, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Hubbard came up short against Struthers in their previous meeting back in January, falling 70-57. Can Hubbard avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
