Columbia Falls' and Bigfork's contest on Thursday was close at halftime, but Columbia Falls turned on the heat in the second half with 35 points. Columbia Falls was the clear victor by a 52-30 margin over Bigfork. The result was nothing new for Columbia Falls, who have now won five matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.
Cody Schweikert continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 172 yards and five touchdowns, while also throwing for 377 yards and two touchdowns while completing 86.2% of his passes. Mark Robison did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 136 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, after only seven points in their last game, Ronan made sure to put some points up on the board against Park on Friday. Ronan took their match at home with ease, bagging a 43-14 win over Park. Ronan pushed the score to 37-6 by the end of the third, a deficit Park cut but never quite recovered from.
Ronan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kolby Finley out in front who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, and also threw for 121 yards and three touchdowns. Davonne Curley was another key contributor, picking up 118 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Columbia Falls to 5-2 and Ronan to 4-4.
Everything came up roses for Columbia Falls against Ronan in their previous matchup back in September of 2022 as the team secured a 44-16 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Columbia Falls since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
