Belleview is 8-0 against Citrus since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Belleview Rattlers will head out on the road to face off against the Citrus Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. Belleview will be strutting in after a win while Citrus will be coming in after a loss.
Belleview scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They walked away with a 39-26 win over Lake Weir. Given Belleview's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while Lake Weir is ranked 618th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Belleview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Briyanna Miles, who scored 14 points. The match was Miles' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Armbrister, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Citrus, who are still winless after their seventh game. They took a serious blow against Lecanto on Friday, falling 53-9. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Citrus has scored all season.
Belleview's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. As for Citrus, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
Belleview didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Citrus in their previous meeting back in November, but they still walked away with a 31-26 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Citrus' Demi Williamson, who scored 15 points along with nine steals. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Belleview still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
