In what's become a running theme this season, the Salpointe Catholic Lancers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They really took it to Flowing Wells for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-28 win on the road. Winning may never get old, but Salpointe Catholic sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Salpointe Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Watts, who scored 11 points along with two steals. Watts is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Williams, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Brianna Potter and Jada Camacho certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Potter scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Camacho scored seven points. Potter hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games.
Salpointe Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Flowing Wells, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salpointe Catholic will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Nogales at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Nogales is on a four-game streak of home wins, Salpointe Catholic a nine-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Flowing Wells, they will head out on the road to face off against Sahuaro at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Sahuaro is ranked 51st, while Flowing Wells is ranked 50th).
