St. Croix Lutheran extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 3-5 in the process. They lost 12-2 to the Concordia Academy Beacons. For Concordia Academy's part, Ashlyn Croon made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Croon has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Concordia Academy got a massive performance out of Grace Madden, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two doubles. Maria Mueller also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
