Hernandez Made His Presence Known in Burbank's 27-7 Win
Starting off the list is Burbank's Keven Hernandez, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Hernandez rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, and also threw for 162 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes.
Unfortunately for Jefferson, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Hernandez. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Hernandez saw the Mustangs), he threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns while completing 92.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown.

Underclassman Mivieon Franklin Ross Major Player in Sam Houston Victory
Underclassman Mivieon Franklin Ross came into Saturday's matchup looking to prove himself and that's exactly what he did. Edison had no answer to Franklin Ross on Saturday as he rushed for 135 yards on only 13 carries, and also threw for 55 yards and a touchdown.
The victory got Sam Houston back to even at 3-3. Franklin Ross and Sam Houston will challenge Lanier at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Israel Zapata Makes It Two for Burbank
Another Burbank player making an appearance on this list is Israel Zapata. He picked up 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 62 yards.
Jefferson's probably not too fond of Zapata given he always seems to get the better of them. When Zapata last faced the Mustangs back in October of 2023, he picked up 94 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Ryan Vasquez Delivers Best Effort of Season
Burbank was led to victory by Ryan Vasquez, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Vasquez wasn't messing around, making eight total tackles (4.0 for loss). The contest was his sixth straight with five or more total tackles dating back to last season.
This season, Vasquez has averaged 8 total tackles per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 4.4 total tackles per game.
