The Poth Pirates lost against the Lytle Pirates back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Poth received a tough blow as they fell 57-39 to Lytle. Poth has struggled against Lytle recently, as their game on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
It was another big night for Calyssa Sevier, who scored 30 points along with seven rebounds and five assists for Lytle. The game was Sevier's 20th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Garcia, who scored seven points.
Poth has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season. As for Lytle, they pushed their record up to 15-5 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poth will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Hondo at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Hondo is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Lytle, they will head out on the road to face off against Nixon-Smiley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Nixon-Smiley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1169th, while Lytle is ranked 303rd).
