DeQuincy won the last time they faced Vinton and things went their way on Thursday too. The DeQuincy Tigers never let the Vinton Lions get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Diron Valentine was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Dowden, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

DeQuincy pushed their record up to 17-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Vinton, they moved to 11-3 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. As for Vinton, they will square off against St. Louis Catholic at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
