The Jeannette Jayhawks's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against Clairton by a score of 58-46. For Jeannette, this counts as revenge for the 63-58 loss Clairton walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Jeannette's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayce Powell led the charge by scoring 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Powell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Odorisio, who scored ten points.
Jeannette's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.6 points per game. As for Clairton, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
Jeannette will be playing in front of their home fans against Springdale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Springdale's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight games. As for Clairton, they will head out on the road to square off against Greensburg Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greensburg Central Catholic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Clairton in Pennsylvania (Greensburg Central Catholic is ranked 75th, while Clairton is ranked 401st).
