They took their matchup at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 38-0 win over Trinity Christian. The victory was some much needed relief for Piedmont Academy as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Mason Tumlin went supernova for Piedmont Academy, rushing for 194 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Cleveland, who threw for 165 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 passes.
Piedmont Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Trinity Christian, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.
Piedmont Academy will head out on the road to face off against Edmund Burke Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Edmund Burke Academy's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Piedmont Academy has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. Trinity Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
