After losing to Northeast Lauderdale the last time they met, Neshoba Central decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Neshoba Central made easy work of Northeast Lauderdale on Friday and carried off a 33-12 win. Neshoba Central were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
The contest started off well for Neshoba Central, whose offense put up 20 first-half points. Meanwhile, Northeast Lauderdale couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 20-0 heading into the break. The Neshoba Central defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 6 and all but finishing the match. The victory bumped their record up to 5-0. The defeat dropped Northeast Lauderdale's record to 3-2.
Neshoba Central will look to defend their home turf next week against Holmes County Central at 7:00 PM. Northeast Lauderdale will have some time to rest before their next matchup, which is against Northeast Jones at NORTHEAST JONES HS in two weeks at 7:00 PM.
