St. Paul Catholic is 8-2 against Seymour since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The St. Paul Catholic Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Seymour Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
St. Paul Catholic scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They blew past Derby, posting a 87-45 victory at home. That 42 points margin sets a new team best for St. Paul Catholic this season.
Meanwhile, Seymour waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. Everything went their way against Torrington as Seymour made off with a 67-46 win. The score was all tied up 31-31 at the break, but Seymour was the (much) better team in the second half.
Indrit Peraj was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with four steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Joey Carrafiello was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
The victory (which was St. Paul Catholic's third in a row) raised their record to 7-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.3 points per game. As for Seymour, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
St. Paul Catholic was able to grind out a solid win over Seymour when the teams last played back in January of 2023, winning 73-64. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Seymour's Caden Drezek, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 15 rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for St. Paul Catholic to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
