The Hilltop Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Chula Vista at home and fell 68-40. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Hilltop of the 69-57 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Despite the loss, Hilltop still got an impressive performance from Saul Salgado, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Salgado scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Martinez, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
Hilltop's loss was their 15th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-25. As for Chula Vista, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-17.
Hilltop does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Chula Vista also has no future games currently scheduled.
