Greenfield hasn't had much luck against Carmel recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bruins will welcome the Padres at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Greenfield's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 25-0 margin over Marina. The victory was familiar territory for the Bruins, who have now won three matches in a row.

Chloe Zavala made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game.
In other batting news, Ashely Zavala was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Natalie Soto, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.
Greenfield lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Carmel, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on Pajaro Valley with a sharp 25-4 win on Friday. The Padres' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Grace Grahl made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Grahl was also solid in the batter's box, earning three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Harper Stephens, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Lily Beals was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Carmel pushed their record up to 15-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Greenfield, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.
Greenfield suffered a grim 15-3 defeat to Carmel in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. Can the Bruins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
