There was early excitement for The North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was the Ravenscroft Ravens who ended up claiming the real prize. North Raleigh Christian Academy was just a hair shy of victory and fell 35-34 to Ravenscroft. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Despite the loss, North Raleigh Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Davin Mccoy, who rushed for 190 yards and a touchdown. Michael Messiah also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Ravenscroft's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Whitehead, who rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryan Copeland, who picked up 96 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
North Raleigh Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Ravenscroft, their victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-4.
North Raleigh Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ravenscroft will head out on the road to face off against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee on Friday. Rabun Gap-Nacoochee will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
