The Orem Tigers will square off against the Timpanogos Timberwolves at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Orem is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season.
Timpanogos will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Orem extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers stepped up to hand Provo a 23-0 shutout. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Kiley Hoshnic made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Timpanogos faced Payson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Timberwolves came up short against the Lions, falling 16-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Timberwolves have suffered since March 4th.
Kelci Gingras made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Ava Duncan also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Orem pushed their record up to 13-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Timpanogos, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-4.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Orem hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .364. However, it's not like Timpanogos struggles in that department as they've averaged .404. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
