Two dominant guards in Tommy Tisdale III and Tyler Moton are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Keith Bears will head out on the road to challenge the Wilcox Central Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Keith comes in on nine and the Jaguars on six.
Last Tuesday, Keith was fully in charge, breezing past the Eagles 94-25 at home. Given Keith's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while the Eagles are ranked 470th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Tisdale III, who scored 51 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Titus Lanier, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, even though Booker T. Washington Magnet scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, Wilcox Central still came out on top. Wilcox Central walked away with a 71-58 victory over the Yellow Jackets.
Wilcox Central relied on the efforts of Tyshawn Bowers, who scored 12 points along with two blocks, and Joshua Blue, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. It was the first time this season that Blue scored 15 or more points. Javion Pettway was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Keith is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Wilcox Central, their victory bumped their record up to 18-6.
Keith strolled past the Jaguars when the teams last played back in November of 2023 by a score of 66-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Keith since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
