The Georgetown-Ridge Farm Buffaloes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They lost to Armstrong on the road by a decisive 52-35 margin. While losing is never fun, Georgetown-Ridge Farm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 708th, while Armstrong is ranked 323rd).
Several Buffaloes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jase Latoz, who scored nine points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him.
Georgetown-Ridge Farm has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Armstrong, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Georgetown-Ridge Farm and Heritage will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Heritage is on a seven-game streak of home losses, Georgetown-Ridge Farm a ten-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. Armstrong will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
